Till now, Kuwait fund has provided financing for Vietnam to carry out 15 projects with the total amount of 53.7 million Dinar Kuwait which is equivalent to 182.10 million USD. Borrowings from this fund is focused on projects on rural infrastructure development inluding traffic works, minor irrigation of poor provinces. Of which, several projects have been completed and put in efficient operation such as Dau Tieng Irrigation, Van Dinh Irrigation, Dac Ta – Ngoc Linh traffic road, Phu Thong – Khang Ninh traffic road. Multi targeted project for ethnic minorities at poor hamlets in Xin Man district of Ha Giang contributes to the living improvement of ethnic minorities in Xin Man district in particular and people of of the mountainous west areas in general. This signing ceremony continues to prove the close economic cooperation between the two countries.

At the reception held for Mr. Vice President cum. Managing Director prior to the signing ceremony, Vice Minister Tran Xuan Ha suggested that the fund coordinates with the Government of Vietnam to enhance the efficient use of borrowings including strengthening information exchange and considering the provision of loans to Vietnam under greater favorable terms.

On behalf of the Government of Vietnam, Vice Minister Tran Xuan Ha conveys his thanks to the Government and People of Saudi Arabia in general and Kuwait fund in particular for their valued and efficient support in the past and looks forward to their close cooperation in the coming years. In the meantime, the Ministry of Finance commits to coordinate with ministries, agencies and Ha Giang’s People Commitees to perform sufficiently the loan agreement, which is expected to facilitate the project implementation in line with planned progress to achieve highest effectiveness.
